Enable Location Services on an iPhone or iPad

In order for the Eyefi app to have access to the photos on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, you must enable Location Services. Photo assets contain information about where the image was taken. Because of this location data, Apple requires that applications have explicit permission to access location data via Location Services before they can do anything with the photos in the Asset Library.

Enable Location Services

The Eyefi app will notify you that "You do not have access to the Assets Library" the first time you run it.

Follow the steps below to give the Eyefi app permission to access the Assets Library:

For iOS 6:

  1. Tap the Settings icon on your home screen.
  2. Tap Privacy.
  3. Tap Photos.
  4. Scroll down to Eyefi and tap the slider toggle to On.

For iOS 5 and earlier:

  1. Tap the Settings icon on your home screen.
  2. Tap Location Services.

    Note: If you cannot change the Location Services settings, your phone's Restrictions (under General settings) may be set to prevent you from changing Location settings. For more information, visit Apple's Understanding Restrictions article.
  3. Scroll down to Eyefi and tap the slider toggle to On.
  4. Return to the home screen and open the Eyefi app.
