The Eyefi Android app can write geolocation information to your photos once you configure the app to do so. If you are using a GPS-enabled camera, the Eyefi app will not overwrite that information.
To allow the Eyefi app to use your device's location to geotag photos, follow the steps below:
- On the Gallery screen, tap the Settings icon.
Note: If your phone has a Menu button, press it, then tap Settings in the menu that appears.
- Tap Application preferences.
- Tap Use device location.
- Check the box next to Geo Tag Photos.
When you enable geotagging, you will see this message:
If the date and time of your Android device and camera are more than one hour out of sync, the Eyefi app will not geotag your photos.
The Eyefi app will not request your device's location as often (only every 15 minutes, instead of every three minutes) when using the Optimize battery option.
