The Eye-Fi Android app can write geolocation information to your photos once you configure the app to do so. If you are using a GPS-enabled camera, the Eye-Fi app will not overwrite that information.
To allow the Eye-Fi app to use your device's location to geotag photos, follow the steps below:
- On the Gallery screen, tap the Settings icon.
Note: If your phone has a Menu button, press it, then tap Settings in the menu that appears.
- Tap Application preferences.
- Tap Use device location.
- Check the box next to Geo Tag Photos.
When you enable geotagging, you will see this message:
If the date and time of your Android device and camera are more than one hour out of sync, the Eye-Fi app will not geotag your photos.
The Eye-Fi app will not request your device's location as often (only every 15 minutes, instead of every three minutes) when using the Optimize battery option.
